L’Ecole № 41 Owner Marty Clubb Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award

We are proud to share that Martin L. “Marty” Clubb, Owner and Managing Winemaker of L’Ecole № 41, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Washington Winegrowers Association. This distinguished honor recognizes individuals whose commitment, leadership, and vision have had a profound and lasting impact on the Washington wine industry.
The award was presented during the Washington Winegrowers’ annual WineVit® conference, held February 10–11 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington. Industry colleague Todd Newhouse delivered the presentation in recognition of Marty’s decades of influential service.
A Career Devoted to Elevating Washington Wine
Since joining L’Ecole № 41 in the late 1980s, Marty has been a tireless advocate for quality, sustainability, and collaboration throughout the Washington wine community. Under his leadership, L’Ecole has grown from a small family winery into one of the region’s most respected producers, known for expressive, terroir-driven wines from some of Walla Walla Valley’s most celebrated vineyards.
The Washington Winegrowers Association describes the Lifetime Achievement Award as honoring “a career commitment to the wine industry, establishing a legacy of influential excellence enriching the great tradition of Washington wine.” For those who know Marty, this sentiment captures his contributions perfectly. His work has helped set standards for excellence, strengthened grower–winery partnerships, and elevated the region’s visibility on both national and global stages.
A Milestone Moment for L’Ecole № 41
This recognition is particularly meaningful for our winery community. Marty’s steady leadership and commitment to honoring the vision of founders Jean and Baker Ferguson have guided L’Ecole № 41 for more than three decades. His approach balances innovation with tradition, always with an eye toward stewarding the next generation of Washington winegrowers and winemakers.
This award stands as a celebration not just of past accomplishments, but of the continued leadership that shapes L’Ecole’s values, wines, and future direction.
