The Tasting
The legendary wine regions of Bordeaux and the Loire served as Jean and Baker Ferguson’s inspiration for the founding of L’Ecole at a time when the Washington wine industry was still in its infancy. As collectors of 1st Growth Bordeaux, the Fergusons recognized WA’s potential for making world-class wines and set out to produce those that could compete with the best from the Old World. Over 40 years later and with numerous international accolades, including Decanter’s “Best Bordeaux-blend in the World,” it is only fitting to celebrate Bastille Day with an incomparable tasting of select L’Ecole wines made in the Vouvray, Bordeaux-Blanc, Right-Bank, and Left-Bank styles alongside exceptional French counterparts. L’Ecole Owner/Managing Winemaker, Marty Clubb along with celebrated Master of Wine and wine industry legend, Bob Betz, will moderate this tasting.
Dinner
The tasting will be followed by a festive French dinner inside the Schoolhouse.
Shuttle transportation between downtown Walla Walla and L’Ecole is included. The Shuttle will meet at the north entrance of the Marcus Whitman Hotel (accessed off 2nd Ave) at 4:00 pm and return at approximately 8:45 pm.
